A Garden Bug

SOme people have snails in their garden.... I have a Sofia in mine. This girl LOVES to sit and pick my flowers. She'll sit at the front door and cry and point at the flower bed. Little stinker!

Pretty In Pink

BEFORE

AFTER

I found this old rocker in our backyard where the scrap wood is. I decided to sand it down and make it a Sissy Girl rocker :) Its kind of funny, because its the first real "girly" thing she has. The babes share a room, so I try to make everything pretty gender neutral, lots of white and green. The one pink thing in there is her bedding. And now.... this rocker. I had some scrap fabric that matched her bedding so I made a mini pillow for her mini peaches :) I made over a chair for Brother too, but its not completely finished, so I'll hold off posting till then.
Ahhh..... feels good to use my hands and MAKE SOMETHING again!

Channeling My Inner Martha

I have been really stressed lately, and I think I need to do something creative to make me feel better. I feel like the past couple of weeks have sucked the energy out of my body, and my brain is always tired. It has been soooo long since I've made time to do something other than laundry, dishes, cleaning something, or putting someone on a time out. I have at least like five projects in my head that I have been wanting to do, but have been just plain TOO TIRED to do.... Well, NO MORE excuses! I am going to make my list and get it done! I'll post pictures of my projects as they come along. First I think I'm going to re paint our dining room table and chairs. Might as well start big :) And lets not forget the  Birthday Extravaganza I have planned for the babes at the end of next month. YIKES, I need to start on all that stuff too

Double Ouch

I'm pretty sure I broke my itty bitty toe this morning. I was walking out of the kitchen with a sippy cup full of milk that a certain little boy was having a panic attack about. I must have been in too big of a hurry, because I kicked the door jam on the way out, and my baby toe got stuck, but my body kept going
OUCH!
OUCH!
It brought me to my knees. My eyes FILLED with tears. I yelled for Gavin to get his Daddy out of the shower. MAN DOWN MAN DOWN!
Anyways, I'm pretty sure its broken. The entire side of my foot is swollen and bruised and hurts like a you-know-what.
So, we spent the day in Mama's bed eating snacks and watching movies.
Lazy, go ahead say it, I don't care,
You try hobbling around with a three year old dodging in and out, over and under your legs, all the while a cling on baby grasping at any part of your clothing she can get her little clingy hands on, desperate to scale your legs and be carried around all day.
NO, thanks, I'll stay in bed and rest my tootsies

Vacation Home

We took a MUCH NEEDED little family get away to Palm Springs on Monday. One of Steve's co workers was kind enough to let us stay at her family condo, so we jumped on the chance as soon as the hubby had a couple of days off. Gavin called it our Vacation Home. ha ha, I WISH it was ours. We left Monday night, and spent all day at the pool Tuesday. It was so wonderful. no cell phones, no computer, no drama, just the family. Sara and Danni came too, and we loved having the extra play mates! Sissy girl L-O-V-E-D the pool. Seriously, she was in heaven. Gavin was a little more timid, but still loved it.

we watched toons and took long naps.....................

walked downtown and ate a yummy dinner
and danced to good music

This morning the weather was windy and cold. We grabbed a delicious breakfast at a little side walk cafe, and decided to head home. The rain was coming, but we were tan and full and happy to have had a quick vacation. It was nice to clear our heads. Sometimes Life takes over and makes us crazy, and impatient, and makes us lose track of what's really important. I am so grateful we got to get lost for a couple of days and get back to being us.  I didn't want to come home. Until next time Palm Springs

A Little R&R

The Babes have a cold AGAIN :(   We spent the day inside resting and reading.... and I may have moved all of our furniture around about a dozen times. Hope they feel better soon, or I may knock down a wall or paint something ! Can you tell I'm getting a little stir crazy?

P.S. I think these two together might be the most beautiful thing in the world.

Baby Jumper Refashion

BEFORE

                        AFTER

Sofia had a couple of these jumpers in her closet that were 3-6 months that no longer fit, and they were to cute to pack up, so I refashioned them into shirts! I just cute the bottom off right above the leg holes, and just stitched right above the raw cut. You could fold it and hem it if you like a clean look, but I really like the look of a raw edge.  I can't wait to hit up the Old Navy Clearance rack to find more of these little beauties to refashion. I think next time I'll add a coordinating fabric to make it a dress.

Bathing Suits and Water mellon

Last week we were wearing our shades

Swimmin in the pool

and eating water mellon

and tomorrow... its supposed to rain :(
BOO!
WE don't have time for that!

We're Fighting

Dear Son,
I love you more than life itself, but if you whine as much as you did today, tomorrow, I might go flippin' crazy! So, lets make a deal...... you go a day without throwing a fit every time someone breaths in your direction, and I won't throw every toy you have in the trash can. The top of the fridge won't hold any more toys on "toy time out".
Deal?
Deal

Love,
Mama

Ladybug Beach

the sun was shining bright when we woke up this morning, so we decided to go to breakfast on the beach. It was such a beautiful day. Oh sunny so cal how I heart you

kind of weird, but there were THOUSANDS of ladybugs EVERYWHERE!!! It was kind of gross actually. Ladybugs are cute when there is just one or two, but when they are swarming like crazy flies and getting stuck in your hair, it kind of gives me the heeby-jeebies. They were covering the grass above the beach doing what boy and girl ladybugs do....next time, get a room!
Gavin thought it was cool though

and here's our shadows from the top of the Pier.
hope you all got enjoy this amazing weather!

On Love and Marriage

i love this man, very very very much. We were lucky enough to have him home the past six days! WOOO HOOO!!!!!!! Yesterday, this man had to go bak to work, and the babes and I were pretty bummed.
As I get older, I realize that there are all types of families and marriages. The work-a-holics, the ones that spend five minutes a day together, the ones that barely talk...... we are the family that does everything together. We eat breakfast lunch and dinner together, even Daddy, he drives home on his lunch break to eat with us. We go grocery shopping together, we talk about the favorite parts of our day while laying in the big bed at the end of the night.
We enjoy just being together doing nothing, or something, it doesn't matter
We like each other.
No.
We love each other. Really truly love each other.
The way down deep to the bottom of your soul love
We are a family because we want to be, not because we have to be. Steve and I will have been together for 10 years this month. Wowza. We met when I was a senior in high school. We got married young, and had babies young. We struggled through growth spurts and the crappy things life sometimes has to offer. We've had rough patches, but thats what's made us so grateful for our life now. I love my husband. I love him as the father of my babes, and the guy that rubs my head every night with out asking until I fall asleep. Even on the days we can't stand each other, we are good together. We respect each other, we laugh together, we still hold hands when we're out and about. We have made our babies and each other our first and foremost priority.
The past six days have been wonderful. The babes and I were spoiled by having him home. And although yesterday and today have sucked without him, I think its pretty cool that after all these years , we still miss each others company this much. So here's wishin' the next Daddy vacation comes soon, cause I could always use some doin' nothin' or doin' somethin' with him.

A Match Made in Stroller Heaven

Go ahead say it.... I'm a stroller whore. I know it, whatever, lets move on. I am on the eternal quest to find the perfect stroller..... and there really isn't I'm convinced. I am a busy on the go Mama, so having the right stroller is like a runner having the right shoes. If the stroller isn't good, it throws everything off. I currently have the Tike Tech double jogger, which I LOVE! Highly recommend it, but the truth is, I usually push it around empty. Gavin wants to walk and Sofia is a cling-on and is usually strapped to the front of me in the carrier. Last Friday we went to the Wild Animal Park, I I pushed that dumb jogger all over the park EMPTY! Well, not empty, full of everyones bags and blankets. Anyways , I decided I was going to look into a light weight single stroller, but not an umbrella stroller because they look too cheap to me, and we are hard on our strollers. After some research....... I finally made my decision.
INTRODUCING
the perfect solution!
The Baby Jogger City Micro Mini
Its like a modernized umbrella stroller, but better! Its a very simple stroller, but still looks nice and sleek. It fold with one  hand, and is light weight. I love it! The basket is a little small, and the sun shade doesn't go down super far, but it doesn't bother me. I have to say though, it is for older babes because it doesn't recline flat. My babes don't stay in the stroller long enough to fall asleep, and when they do, I don't think it will be a problem.
Wait.... Here is the cool part!
BAby jogger know makes a glide board for the back so that when Gavin gets tired of walking. he can just hop on the back ! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its perfect for trips to the park, mall, anywhere really!
I am obsessed!
I will still use my jogger when we take all day outings, and I know Gavin will want to sit down, but this is perfect for everyday life!
I just wanted to share my new discovery for all you fellow stroller freaks!

P.S. I got my stroller at Bergstroms with a 20% coupon and it came out to be a little over $100 ! NOT BAD! The glide board I found on line for $69.99 , a little pricey, but worth it to me! And it doesn't ship till June, so I'll have to hold my horses a little bit longer.
